One of the bothers saved $20 and the other saved $35.
Say the brothers are named A and B, and their combined savings is A+B. If we know that B = A + 15 and that the total savings is 55:
55 = A + B
55 = A + A + 15
55 = 2A + 15
Solving for brother A:
40 = 2A
20 = A
Substituting for brother B:
B = A + 15
B = 20 + 15
B = 35
