the slope-intercept form of an equation is written as: Y=Mx+B where m is slope and B is Y intercept. M comes from the French word monter meaning slope. y and x are both variables. the equations y=4x+4 and y=4x+2 have the same slope but intercept the y axis at different locations. this makes them Parallel. they will never intersect, and never touch. Parallel.

Is two distinct lines with same x intercept parallel?

No. In order to be parallel, two lines would have to have the same slope, and different intercepts. Why? Two lines with different slopes, but the same intercepts would result in two intersecting lines. Two lines with the same slope, and the same intercept would result in the same line. Two lines with the same slope, and different intercepts would be parallel.

If two lines are perpendicular do the have the same slope?

No but if the two lines are parallel then they will have the same slope.

Are two lines with the same slope and different y-intecept perpendicular?

Two lines with the same slope are parallel.

What are distinct lines?

Distinct Lines are two (or more) lines that are not equal. This means that they are not the same line (do not have the same equation)

Are two lines that do not intersect and have the same slope?

They are parallel lines which have the same slope but different y intercepts.

These are two lines that do not intersect and have the same slope?

They are parallel lines which have the same slope but different y intercepts.

What is two lines that lie on the same plane and don't intersect?

Two parallel lines. Such lines have the same slope.

The two lines below are parallel If the slope of the red line is 3 what is the slope of the green line?

Parallel lines have the same slope.

What is the slope of a line parallel to a line with slope -2?

For two lines to be parallel they must have the same slope. A line parallel to a line with slope -2 would have a slope of -2.

What do the slopes of two parallel lines have?

The same slope

Can two intersecting lines have the same slope?

NO they can't
