No. By the mid 1700's slavery had been outlawed in several northeastern states. Yet, the Black citizens did not escape discrimination in those states. The southern states because of the need for slaves due to crop production held the largest population of slaves.

Yes, it did. The first slave came in 1619. Not all colonies were slave states, but the southern plantations needed slaves so from the very start they imported slaves. Eventually laws were passed to stop the import of slaves, but not slavery. One of the biggest slave markets was located in Charleston South Carolina. Slaves were property and bought and sold as property.

Yes, but it was more concentrated in the southern colonies where they had longer growing seasons and so more of a reason to need slaves.

Slavery was legal in the colonies. Most of the slaves in the colonies came from the Caribbean. They were brought over to the colonies when they needed help with labor.
