If you are sure it is the tensioner you should replace, do it. It can save you a big head-ache later on, the spring may be worn or out of place or the bearing could be worn(making it possible to throw a belt). It is cheap and easy to do, replace with new part.

I would assume that the bearing will be similar to my Master, the wheel bearings are right sods, you will need a big press but before the press will be able to push the bearing out you will need to cut out the inner chase, no really even with a BIG press they wont shift, but when the center chase is removed (cutter required) the bearing will come free
