It means that the fetus has decended and the head is now in the posistion ready for delivery
When, during the pushing phase of labor, the baby's head remains visible and does not slip back in, it is known as crowning
breech. lol. Edit: it does NOT mean breech ! A 'breech' baby is one that's positioned with the head uppermost in the womb !
I had the same thing happen during my ultrasound today and am looking for answers.
It's normal. I'm 34 weeks along and mine is too. It's just from the pressure of the baby on your cervix. No worry's though , .. Doesn't mean the baby's coming or anything.
It represents how much your babys head is engaged in the pelvis. Four fifths palpable equals one fifth engaged.
I believe that this means the babies head is in the correct position for birth.
All within normal variations!
No, except to babys, then he is a meanie.
That means the baby's head is in the birth canal and probably getting ready to drop. There is nothing to worry about. If anything I is a good thing because when you go into labor it won't be so hard and long to push the baby out. Good luck with your new baby and congrats.
