The kilogram is the only pure SI unit for mass. The derived unit, the gram, would be more appropriate for a spool of thread though.

How do you load a front loading bobbin?

I'm assuming you're talking about winding a bobbin on a sewing machine? If so, there is a post similar to the one for thread (near it) that you put the empty bobbin on. Then you put your spool of thread where it goes on the machine. You wind your thread from the spool of thread to the bobbin (there's usually a little chart on your machine, but if not, the thread goes through a hook or two and then you wind it about 4 times around the bobbin (clockwise). In newer machines you then push the bobbin toward a holder type thing that is near it. This disengages the needle from going up and down and lets the machine wind the thread as you push the pedal. On older machines, you have to turn the handle of the machine toward you and it disengages the needle, allowing the bobbin to be filled when you press the pedal. Hope this helps! You could probably google your sewing machine name and how to thread a bobbin and maybe get a diagram.

How do you replace the line on a spool with two lines coming out of the spool?

Cut two pieces of trimmer line about 6-8 ft long. Push the line into the opening in the spool until it comes out of the bottom of the spool. Place the end of the line into the small hole adjacent to the opening where the line came out of the spool. Pull the line tight while holding your finger on the line in the hole. Do this for both sides and then wind the spool in the reverse direction to fill the spool. Pull on the line occasionally to make sure the line is not binding up in the spool. There are spools that will take one single long line, where the center of the line is attached to a notch (or similar) in the center of the spool and then wound with one line on each side of the spool. Then, the end of each line is threaded through each hole in the trimmer head. It would be best if you consulted a user's manual. Is viscose thread a good choice for quilting?

There are many different opinions on which thread is ideal for quilting. A good rule of thumb is to choose a thread made of the same material as the fabric you are using. For example: I would choose cotton thread if I am using cotton fabric, but if I am using a synthetic fabric (like polyester) I would choose a synthetic thread-- like viscose rayon or polyester. It is best to use the same materials for your fabric and thread so that when washed and dried, everything shrinks evenly.
