I believe the 1500 is how many kilograms of weight you can carry on the rear axle or in the bed/back of the truck. Half ton is what the truck weighs unloaded! an empty 1/2 ton weighs close to 3300 pounds. that's slightly over 1 1/2 tons. the kilo grams statement might be correct though. 1/2 ton load max. 3/4 ton = 3/4 load.
