The arc in Basketball is when you shoot the ball into the hoop. When you shoot it should be an arc shape. When it's an arc shape there is a higher chance of the basketball to go in the hoop.
Using only this ten-penny nail and a piece of string, I am now going to scribe an arc on this wooden panel. The high arc of the basketball carried it accurately to it's intended target.
an arc is a segment of a circle. If the arc subtends a full angle of 360 degrees, then the arc is a circle; but this is a special case of an arc.
Arc measure is the number of radians. Two similar arcs could have the same arc measure. Arc length is particular to the individual arc. One must consider the radius of the arc in question then multiply the arc measure (in radians) times the radius to get the length.

It could be many things! 1. the arc of your shot, which is the point from when the ball leaves your hand to the point it reaches the basket. If your arc isn't right, your shot could be too flat or too high and looped and shooting percentage is lowered. 2. the 3-point line is often refered to as the arc in basketball, including in the NBA/WNBA. If you score from outside the 'arc', you get three points instead of two. Hope I helped! :)
