Artificial Variables are used to get an initial basic variable from

the constraints while preparing the initial basic feasible solution table. Constraints of >=

type and = type don't provide any basic variable. So, artificial variable is added

arbitrarily to get the basic variable

What is a definiton of a operational definiton?

An operational definition defines something (e.g. a variable, term, or object) in terms of the specific process or set of validation tests used to determine its presence and quantity. That is, one defines something in terms of the operations that count as measuring it.

What is the operational definition of intelligence?

Police operational intelligence is not a term that is used very often. Police operational intelligence is a term used by undercover officers that collect evidence.

What is a n independent variable?

an independent variable is a figure usually shown as a letter that is used in the scientific theory. An independent variable is used in a hypothesized experiment in which this variable is unchanged and is used to effect the dependent variable somewhere in the experiment.

What is the definition of dependent variable?

A variable in a research design that is free to change over a range of different experimental treatments. You have probably made a hypothesis that the dependent variable will change in some systematic way as the experimental treatments change. Examining the data that you generate will tell you whether or not your hypothesis is right.Term used in regressionanalysis to represent the element or condition that is dependent on values of one ormore other independent variables.Basically a dependent variable is an scientific term mostly used in science projects.Dependent variable means an variable that is changed by the expirment.

What are Explanatory variable?

Explanatory (or predictor) variable: A variable which is used in a relationship to explain or to predict changes in the values of another variable; the latter called the dependent variable.

Operational variable in science?

An operational definition of a variable is that which defines a variable in terms of operations that are used to measure it. This allows different investigators to perform the same or similar experiments when investigating a phenomenon. For example, a score on a standardized IQ (i.e., intelligence quotient) test might be the operational definition of the variable "intelligence."

What is the role of computer in operational research?

Operational research is the discipline where advanced analytical skills are applied for better decision making. Computers are widely used in many cases to prove the correctness of the decision. Below are some links that will give more information.

What are the characteristics of research objectives?

1.It's phrased in good operational words such as "to describe" "to compare" etc, (bad operational terms such as "to understand", "to appreciate", and "to study" should not be used.) 2.It should clearly indicate, - the purpose of doing - where will it be done - who are the subjects - what will be done in the research. In brief it summarize what is to be achieved by the research.

Define operational definition as distinct from lexical definition?

Operational can be defined as the process of operationalization that is used to define a variable or an object in terms of a process that is needed to determine its quantity, duration, and existence. An operational definition can, when operationalized to a greater degree, besides the procedure needed to bring something into existence.

What are objects in space that were sent there by humans and are no longer used?

There are many objects in space that are no longer used. For example, there are all kinds of machinery left on the Moon by astronauts. In addition there are a great number of artificial satellites still orbiting the Earth that are no longer operational.

In a controlled experiment what does a operational definition do?

It is used to measure and record your observation.
