A multiple of a number is the product when a number is multiplied by another number. For example 6, 12, 66, and 600 are all multiples of 6. Factors of a number are numbers that will divide another number a certain number of times with no remainder. For example, the factors of 222 are 1, 2, 3, 6, 37, 74, 111, and 222.

A factor is a number or algebraic expression by which another is exactly divisible.
A multiple is a number or algebraic expression that can be divided by another number or algebraic expression without a remainder.
Factors go into numbers, numbers go into multiples.

A multiple and a factor both connect to each other, they are practically opposites. If you look at this in a multiplication point of view a factor is a number that can be multiplied by another number to get a product while a multiple is the product of the two numbers it is getting multiplied by. But if you look at this in a division point of view a factor is a number that is divided by another number to get a quotient (the quotient is another factor of the dividend) while the multiple the dividend of that equation.

Example (multiplication): 5 x 4 = 20, 5 and 4 are the factors and 20 is the multiple

Example (division): 20/5=4, 5 and 4 are STILL the factors and 20 is STILL the multiple.

This is a longer but easier way of explaining this, hope it helped
