Integers are the positive and negative whole numbers with the addition of 0. The positive integers are the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc. The negative integers are the numbers -1, -2, -3, -4, -5, -6, etc. 0 is neither positive or negative.

It is the set of numbers that contains 0, 1, 2 3 and all the counting numbers to infinity as well as the negatives of all of those numbers, such as -1, -2, -3 etc.

The more formal definition would say the set of integers contains all the natural numbers and their negatives as well as the number 0.
