switches which can be either on (1) or off (0).
Decimal numbers are converted into binary
and the computations are done by switches
flipping from off to on or from on to off.

∙ 13y agoBianary is the backbone of computer storage, in the hard drive and flash memory there are microscopic sectors that either contain 0 or 1, they use 0 or 1 as this is the simplest thing for a computer to understand and then when the computer reads it deciphers it in to something meaning full on your computer screen like a word document.
