There salary isn't that high starting at a miniscule annual salary of R61,277 the maximum salary {after 10 years of experience} is +- R642,800 annualy,BUT with the relevant degree combinded with an MBA and LOTS OF HARD WORK an "Economist" can act as the CFO,or Infacts the CEO of a company which earns an average of R 3,500,000 annualy in my opinion this is a very worth while professional job

Depending on experience / qualification.

New students with 3-4 subject passes will earn around R16000 - R18000.

Students with around 10 passes, but not Associate qualification will earn around R30 000

Associates will earn between R37 000 - R50 000

Recently qualified fellows will earn upwards of R50 000

Experienced fellows will earn R65 000 - R200 000

It depends on your qualification. A student with 3-4 of his 15 subject passes will start with about R18000 per month. I have 4 years experience, manage a small team, have 5 subjects left and earn around R36000 per month (excluding bonusses)
