First, organize the numbers from least to greatest.

Then find the number that is in the center. In this case, the median is 9 because there are 3 quantities on both the left and the right.

If you have an even number of data, average the two numbers in the center.

The median is 9 because 8 and 10 split center. Average 8 and 10 to get 9.
