Okay. that is overcomplicated.

Think of it this way:

If you have -7 and you're tanking away -2 of that, just take it away. Naturally, with subtraction subtract the sign and add like terms.

Like this:

(-7) - (-2) ===> (-7) + 2

See? When you do subtracting negatives, it's like adding a positive.

Hopefully you will never have problems with this, it's simple when you have the hang of it.
