It means using powers. So instead of 2x2x13 you would put 2squared (the little 2 next to it) and 13. 2squared and 13 is prime factorization WITH exponents. Without exponents you would just put 2x2x13

What is the prime numbers of 972?

I am not really sure what you mean but prime numbers but the prime factorization of 972 is 2x2x3x3x3x3x3

What does 'products of its primes' mean?

To write a composite whole number as the product of its prime factors is to write its prime factorization.

What does prime factorization mean in math?

It means splitting the number into the primes that when multiplied together make the original number. For example the prime factorisation of 28 is 2 x 2 x 7 since 2 x 2 x 7 = 28. This prime factorization of 28 could be written as 22 x 7 using powers to collate (collect together) multiple copies of the same prime.

What does the word prime factorization mean?

== Will you please answer my question?! Will you please answer my question?! == In number theory ( http://www.answers.com/topic/number-theory ), integer factorization is the process of breaking down a composite number ( http://www.answers.com/topic/composite-number ) into smaller non-trivial integers ( http://www.answers.com/topic/divisor-2 ), which when multiplied together equal the original integer. Source:integer-factorization== The prime factors of a positive integer are the prime numbers that divide into that integer exactly, without leaving a remainder. The process of finding these numbers is called integer factorization, or prime factorization. What does it mean to find the prime factorization of a number?

All composite numbers can be expressed as the product of prime numbers. This is accomplished by dividing the original number by prime numbers until all the factors are prime. A factor tree can help you visualize this. Example: 30 30 Divide by two. 15,2 Divide by three. 5,3,2 Stop. All the factors are prime. 2 x 3 x 5 = 30 That's the prime factorization of 30.

What does find the prime factorization of each number using exponents mean?

Exponents are a way to notate repeated factors. The prime factorization of 72 is 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 3. Using exponents, that's 2^3 x 3^2.

What does find the prime factorization of the number use exponents when possible?

if asking what I think... What does "Find the prime factorization of the number. Use exponents when possible." mean? First find the prime factors. Express the number as the product of only prime numbers. For example, 835210 after you find the answer it would be 2 x 5 x 17 x 17 x 17 x 17 and it would be easier to write 2 x 5 x 17 with the little 4 next to the 17: 835210 = 2 x 5 x 174
