What does the Ace of Clubs tucked in a World War 2 helmet represent?

After poking around the search web for a bit, I am going to conclude that the Ace of Clubs mean Good Luck to the Wearer. In all card games and other games of chance and fortune telling the Ace of Clubs portends good luck, thus my choice that it means exactly that. The ace of clubs was a formation sign for the 1st bragade of the 101st airborne division. Often wrongly used on other troops in movies. More info: The helmet used was called the M1 and was in service till I think 1989. The 101st Airborne Division painted a white Spade, Heart or Diamond on their helmets to identify their brigade. On many photos from Viet Nam, you can see soldiers wearing an actual Ace card tucked into a band on their helmet. Not sure WHY or the purpose. In the movie "Apocalypse Now", there is a scene where they count the dead enemy by laying a card on the body of each one---the back of the card probably had the units' marking or the phrase "Death from Above". They thought that would terrorize the Viet Cong.

What is the probability of a card higher than a five clubs appearing in a suit of clubs?

The probability of a card higher than a five in any particular suit, when that suit is the only suit in the deck of 13, assuming the Ace is high, is 9 in 13, or about 0.6923. If the Ace is low, then the probability is 8 in 13, or about 0.6154. If you draw from a full deck of 52 cards, and stipulate that you have to draw a club, then the probabilities become 9 in 52, or about 0.1731 (Ace high) or 8 in 52, or about 0.1538 (Ace low).
