silk was supposed to be made since china was on the same line of latitude, so the English thought it would grow. very little silk was grown because the wrong mulberry plants were grown. wine was supposed to be made but the grapes were wrong. they were also told to make semitropical fruits and other goods. rice was exported. they had an excellent lumber industry. hope i helped! :D
