To clear the lower levels with TF alone would be next to impossible and almost silly. P1/ECM is the best tool here. Similarly it would have been silly to clear the higher levels with P1/ECM alone; TF was much more effective there.

Unless specifically asked how they may best help everyone is totally on their own; I am in no position to dictate. All I do occasionally is suggest where I feel help is most needed for those interested. I assume people will use their hardware appropriately: CPUs for P1 or ECM GPUs that are really fast at TF will most likely do TF; at P1 may choose accordingly. And as I've suggested before TF helps more with the higher ranges; P1/ECM helps more with the lower ranges. I adjust my own farm (maybe small piece of sod) as necessary. Thanks all

OK... I've had the Colab DCTF'ers taking poorly TF'ed candidates up to 73. The system then releases the candidate so you can P1 them.

I am about to move to the 9.3M range. This range is already TF'd very well and below 2000 exponents left unfactored. But I am going to do this range P1'd to the same standard. This will give others time to do TF in the other ranges of 9M.

I ran P1 once and P+1 six times for M8202179, got CPU credits every time. The best part was that SRBase put the roof on only several hours later(1 extra bit with no factor). Last fiddled with by tuckerkao on 20210820 at 23:17

Is anybody working in 4.4M right now? I mean, doing P1.
I see that somebody took about 600 of them to B1=10M, and I don't know if this nice activity is still going on. Last week there was some TF going on (11 factors found) but there is no movement in the last 34 days. Then, there are ~1400 candidates that could benefit of some larger bounds, and I was thinking to give it a spin after I finish 11.6M (where there are only 6 factors to be founds currently, with the help of SRBase who found 24 and Andrew B, who found 2 by TF to 71). That is because I see there is still a lot of TF going on in 11M, and I would like to let the guys exhaust their steam and coal before I go finishing the 11.xM ranges, otherwise, as it seems they can't stop once they started (I am thinking of SRBase's workers who got the assignments and are working on them, those can't be "recalled"), we may end up later with a lot of overshot, like it is currently happening in 11.1M and 11.9M (see the twok table). So I am temporarily looking for a new range to bite into, and starting from the beginning looks more orthodox... Last fiddled with by LaurV on 20210822 at 17:55

The plan is to TF to 73 and then P1 them aggressively then hopefully don't have many left for more TF. There are a few ranges already at 73 bits.
