So 3 divided by 6 is 1/2. 6 divided by 7 asks how many 7's in 6? There is not even a whole 7 in 6, since we are 1 short of 7. We can write it as a fraction 6/7 which is less than 1. One is 7/7 by the way. But 7 divided by 6 is one 6 with something left over. The something is 1/6 so it is 1 and 1/6 1 and 1/6 is the same as 7/6.
