To round a number on a digit, look at the next digit (to the right); then if it is 5 or more, add one, otherwise leave alone. Then replace the unneeded digits by zero.

A tenth is the first digit after the decimal point.

For 491.44208 this is 4, and the next digit is also a 4. It is less than 5, so leave alone, and replace all unneeded digits by zero, giving: 491.40000. However, trailing zeros after a decimal point make no difference to the value of the number and so are not written, giving the answer as:
