First, determine the least common denominator -- you need to make the denominator (number to the right of the "/") the same for both fractions.

You can do this by multiplying the the denominators of the two fractions: 5x3 = 15

Then multiply the numerator (number to the left of "/") of one fraction with the denominator of the second fraction:

[(4x3)/15] - [(4x5)/15]

[12/15] - [20/15]

Now, you can just subtract the nominators like you normally would.

Don't forget to indicate the denominator.
