Best Answer

62x100=6200

NOTE:- IN THIS EXAMPLE ¦ MEANS "SPLIT THIS NUMBER OFF", ~ MEANS "ATTACH THESE NUMBERS TOGETHER", ------>MEANS "THIS GIVES YOU"

This is because when you multiply any number by 10, 100, 1000, 10 000, 100 000 etc. you add the number of 0zeros onto the number.

In this case, 100 has 2 0zeros so you add 2 0zeros

¦1¦00------>00

onto the end of the number 62, giving you 6200.

62~00------>6200

7634x10

¦1¦0------>0

7634~0------>76340

Another example is 65.5x10 000.

To do this:

¦1¦0 000------>0000

Because 65.5 is not an integer (a whole number), we take one of the 0zeros and change 65.5 to 655. We are moving the decimal place, just like we do in the previous example.

65.5~0------>655

Now, as before, we add the last 3 0zeros to give us...

655~000------>655000

73.44x100 000 000

¦1¦00 000 000------>00000000

73.44~00------>7344

7344~000000------->7 344 000 000

0.89x100

¦1¦00------>00

0.89~00------>89

There are now no 0zeros left so this is your answer

23x0.01

Decimals work in the same way, just moving the decimal place in the opposite direction.

0.0¦1¦------>0.0

As there are 2 0zeros we move the 23 2 places to the decimal point's right so 23 becomes a decimal

0.0~23------>0.23

And the last one...

372x0.1

0.¦1¦------>0.

0.~372------>37.2
