A line of reflection is a reflected line, often off of a mirror. If a flashlight sends a beam of light at a mirror (the light is called the incident beam), the angle at which it hits the mirror will equall the angle at which the reflected beam of light (called the reflected beam), exits the mirror. This is called the Law of Reflection. This is why light is reflected from a mirror at the same angle at which light struck its surface. What is a reflection in geometry?

Reflection of an object is the flip of that subject on a particular line, that is called line of reflection.

How is a line of reflection like a line of symmetry?

A line of reflection and a line of symmetry both show the reverse of an image.

What is the line of reflection in symmetry?

The line of reflection in symmetry is the imaginary line that travels down the line of symmetry. For example, in a square, the line of reflection would be the line down the center of the square, and the line down the diagonal of the square.

How does a line of symmetry and line of reflection compare?

A line of symmetry is usually within the object whereas a line of reflection need not be.

A reflection.

What reflection flips a point in a line?

There is no form of reflection that flips one point on a line and leaves the rest of the line unchanged.

Reflection of cordinates (-10 30)?

The answer will depend on what the line of reflection is.

How are points and their images related to the line of reflection?

The line of reflection is the perpendicular bisector of any point and its image.

What is the law of incidence?

the law of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection. draw a line as a surface. then draw a line going straight up from the center. now draw a line going from one side to the intersection of the surface and the dotted line. this line is the line of incidence. draw another line on the other side, like a mirror. this second line is the line of reflection. delete the middle line. the left line, the line of incidence, is mirrored to create the line of reflection. the angle from the incidence line to the surface is equal to the angle from the reflection line to the surface.
