Today was pay-day at the shop. It could not have come at a better time, as I was

flat broke. I was paid my usual $243 after deductions. On my way home, I stopped

at the big Green Wall pharmacy and monomart for supplies. Two prescriptions were

ready, and as long as I was there anyway, I picked up toothpaste, a notepad, a

30-foot extension cord, and this month's issues of QST, Scientific American, and

Patriot Gunslinger. I paid cash at the checkout because Aruna was working the

register and I love watching her try to make change. The total with tax came to $44.

How much money did I have in my pocket when I got home ?
