Calculus! So, when you differentiate a function or find the derivative, as it is also called, you are finding the rate of change of the function. An easy way to find the derivative at a certain point on a function is to draw a line tangent to the function at that point; the slope of the tangent line is the derivative.

The word "differentiate" commands the application of the differential operator to a function, i.e. it refers to the notion of differentiation. Consider the most basic notion of a function which is merely a rule which assigns to a real number x some other real number called f(x). The derivative of the function f is the limit of the so-called difference ratio (f(x+h)-f(x))/h as h tends to 0. Notice that in order to understand what the derivative is, you must clearly understand what is meant here by the "limit" of the difference ratio. The words "differentiate", "differentiation", and "derivative" are in a certain sense used in the same way that the words "add", "addition", and "sum" are used to describe addition (although of course addition is a different type of operation entirely)

Differentiation formulas of mathematics d dx x x plus 9?

If you mean x squared + 9, you differentiate this as follows: Use the differentiation formula for a power, to differentiate the x squared. Separately, use the differentiation formula for a constant, to differentiate the 9. Finally, use the differentiation formula for a sum to add up the parts.

What are some uses of derivative rules?

There are many uses in mathematics for derivative rules in order to derive from formulas. The main use of using derivative rules for mathematical formulas is to differentiate the logarithm.

Can you prove a statement is true by identifying one example of when it is true what if you identify 10 or 100 examples?

A statement in maths is true only if it is proved by a series of mathematical manipulations and logic for any GENERAL number for which the statement should satisfy. Otherwise, it is only a conjecture. This is the beauty of mathematics and it is proof which differentiate mathematics from all other fields.

What are differentiate of theory and law?

A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of a natural phenomenon that is supported by evidence and can be used to make predictions. It is a broad explanation that may encompass multiple related hypotheses. In contrast, a scientific law is a statement that describes a consistently observed behavior in nature but does not explain the underlying reasons for that behavior. Laws are usually more specific and narrow in scope compared to theories.
