When you are finding common factors, one method is to list the factors.
A composite number has three or more factors.
If a number has equal factors, it is a perfect square and the equal factors would be square roots.

If an even number of negative factors are multiplied together (such as 18 factors), the answer will be positive. If there are an odd number of negative factors, the answer will be negative.
You multiply the factors together. if the factors are 6 and 7 or 2,3 and 7, then the number is 6x7=2x3x7=42
