In music, two quarter notes tied together get the same amount of beats as a half note: two beats. If one quarter note is one beat, and you put together two, you get two beats. Remember, one sixteenth plus one sixteenth equals one eighth. One eighth plus one eighth equals one quarter. One quarter plus one quarter equals one half. One half plus one half equals a whole. The same goes for rests, and later on you will probably get some thirty-second notes or sixty-fourth notes. You just go the opposite direction: two sixty-fourth notes equal a thirty-second note. Two thirty-second notes equal a sixteenth note. And then you go to eighths, quarters, halves, and wholes. I hope this helps!
1/8 + 1/32= 5/32
One fourth of 32 is 8.
Three-fourths is one-fourth plus one-fourth plus one-fourth.
One half plus one fourth is 3/4.
24 x 37 + 1/4 = 888 1/4
Thirty five and three fourths.
one thirty seconds
It is one fourth.
You can really just think of notes as fractions, as music can be seen as the artistic form of math. Therefore two sixteenth notes equal an eighth note (8 is half of 16), and four thirty-second notes equal an eighth note. How many eighth notes equal a thirty-second note? That's just in reverse, so one fourth of an eighth note is the same as one thirty-second note.
1/4 plus 1/4 plus 1/3 is = 0.833333
A half/one half.
One fourth plus one half plus one half plus 1 is equal to 2.25 or 2 1/4
Since one eighth note is four thirty-second notes, one quarter note in eight thirty-second notes. (:
