A Prime number is a positive integer that can't be divided into smaller positive integers. Its only positive factors are one, and the number itself. (One is usually not considered a prime number.)

A composite number is one that does have smaller prime factors.

For example, 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13 are prime numbers.

4 = 2x2, 6=2x3, 9=3x3 are composite numbers.
