To find the Least Common Denominator (LCD) of 15 and 125 you could make a list of their multiples until you find a number common to both lists:

15: 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 105, 120, 135, ....

125: 125, 250, ...

This method can sometimes be tedious. A more 'scientific method is to find the prime factorization of each number|

15 = 3x5

125 = 5x25 = 5x5x5

The LCD has to have enough factors in it to make each of the numbers. There has to be 1 three and 3 fives.

LCD = 3x5x5x5 = 3x125 = 375.
