It's easier to do it the other way. The GCF of consecutive even integers is 2. The product of 18 and 20 is 360. 360 divided by 2 is 180, the LCM.

How do you find the LCM using GCF?

The GCF of two numbers multiplied by their LCM will equal the product of the original numbers. If you know the GCF, divide it into the product of the two. The result will be the LCM. If the GCF of two numbers is 1, the LCM is their product.

What is the algorithm of LCM of more than 3 numbers?

If you use methods based on prime factors, it is the same whether you have 2, 3, or more numbers: find all the factors that occur in any of your numbers. If you use a method based on Euclid's Algorithm (that is, lcm(a, b) = a x b / gcf(a, b), where you find the gcf with Euclid's Algorithm), then you can find the lcm for two numbers at a time. For example, to get the lcm of four numbers, find the lcm of the first two, then the lcm of the result and the third number, than the lcm of the result and the fourth number.

How is GCF and LCM similar?

GCF and LCM are similar because you need to find the prime factorizations of the two numbers in both cases to get the result.

It doesn't matter which method you use. You still need at least two numbers to find an LCM. There is no LCM of 20.

How do you write a C program to find the GCD and LCM of two numbers using a switch statement?

The following function will return the GCD or LCM of two arguments (x and y) depending on the value of the fct argument (GCD or LCM). enum FUNC {GCD, LCM}; int gcd_or_lcm(FUNC fct, int x, int y) { int result = 0; switch (fct) { case (GCD): result = gcd (x, y); break; case (LCM): result = lcm (x, y); break; } return result; }

1 can only be an LCM (least common multiple) if the numbers you're trying to find an LCM for are 1 and 1. LCM cannot be smaller than the largest of the numbers you're using.

What is the LCM of 121 132 and 2475?

The LCM is 108900. For very large numbers such as 2475, I suggest using one of the on-line computer programs to find the LCM. You can also do it with many calculators.It is possible to use prime factorization, but this is not easy when numbers get very large.Listing the multiples is also not too practical with these numbers.
