If this is an old side by side it would be a Baker model made in 1886. Serial numbers of Ithaca shotguns for that year were 2448 - 4101.

I would say that you have a Ithaca model flues double barrel shotgun that was made in the year 1923,with the serial number that you provided.
You have a Lewis or NIG model, built in 1903.
Forearm iron and watertable are the easiest places to obtain this info

The first Double Barrel Nitro Lefever (16 Gauge) was made in 1921, Serial number started with 100,000. The last Nitro Lefever was madee in 1947, Serial Number 361,199. I have a Niotro Lefever Serial Number 339,290 that was manufactured in 1937. Original price was $29, currently worth approximately $500.
If the shotgun is a hammerless double, it is a Baker Model produced in 1899 (per Dixie Gun Works, Ithaca Serialization Guide) That serial should be a 1926 production NID. firstname.lastname@example.org

I'm not sure anymore. There are Ithaca gun collector clubs that should be able to help you. I don't know if Ithaca is still in business or not. They were in Union Springs, NY the last I knew. GOOGLE Ithaca gun collectors and see what you get.
The double is the last model NID (New Ithaca Double) mfg by Ithaca. This one was mfg in 1927. Depending on condition and gauge you may have a very desirable shotgun.
