This guy saying 55 in one minute is HIGHLY above average. This would be one push-up about every 1.1 seconds, which is ridiculously high.I'm 16 and can do around 60 - 65 in a minute I've been working out for 3 years and a ton of my friends do more than me so it shows how unhealthy Americans are......and the average is in fact only like 10 - 20

Well the average American can probably do no more than forty, but I am a high-schooler, and I usually set the curve in my classes for the sit-ups in 1 minute, and I can bust out 64 or 65 on a good day.

3 sets of 30 , if you mix this with press ups turn about it will be more beneficial. I would personally not recommend sit ups as they put strain on your back. Instead of sit ups try the plank for sets of 1 min then work up to longer sets over time.
Doing 30 sit-ups will only burn about 7 calories. The amount of carbs burned is not really something that can be determined as it usually goes by calories.
