You have to look back in all the books that you have written in for maths questions and learn from your mistakes. Also keep going through the pages of the book so that it will stay in your head. It is better if someone reads all the information out to you but you have to make sure you listen to every word they say.

The best way to revise for an exam is to work out a revision timetable. If you have a maths exam and a french exam, but find french easier, learn your french roughly first. Spend a lot of time on the subject you find harder, and use examples of coursework and homework to help you. Make sure you increase your revision on the nights leading to the exam.

If you have any top trumps from ages ago change them to study cards, one pack for each subjuct then you will have a case. By a ring binder and some poly pockets to put all your spare papers in right notes if you think you here anything that will help!

Well, being a student I would recommend looking at all of the subjects in which you have exams, then sort them based on how much revision will be needed on them and how complex they are and then finally making up a revision timetable. Doing a bit of revision everyday maybe 3 hours, between breaks really helped me do well in my exams and I got great marks too

Here are some of the top techniques:

  • Make a study schedule - it's best to study for shorter periods, like 15-20 minutes at a time with a short 5 minute break between (where you get up and stretch or get a snack or use the restroom)
  • Alternate study subjects instead of doing all one subject at once - this keeps your brain more interested and keeps you from getting so bored
  • Exercise - even a 30-minute walk or jog after your studies will wake your brain up and make you more alert
  • Start in the morning when you're most alert - don't stay up all night when you're trying to study and revise, but get enough sleep and hit the books first thing in the morning
  • Lose the distractions - treat your studies like a job. You wouldn't go to work and stand around texting or chatting or Surfing the internet, so don't do that while you're supposed to be studying. Shut off the cellphone, the internet, the Video Games, the loud music, and anything else that might distract you
  • Spice up your revision - get out the colored pencils and markers and draw some lively charts and graphs. You can even write different facts in different colors to help you remember them better
  • Make summary notes - instead of trying to reread the textbooks, make good notes (see the link below for more help on that, too) and study them instead
  • Use past papers - ask your teacher for as many copies of past papers as you think you can study, and use those for revision. Just knowing what sort of question the teacher usually asks can help you, and some of the questions on your own exams might be similar
  • Use Study Decks - see the link below for making one
  • Get some help - enlist family and friends to help you study, even if it's just giving you enough peace and quiet to finish your work

You should:

  • Look over your notes
  • Use a textbook or revision book
  • Use the internet and school/university resources when possible
  • BBC Bitesize and websites such as MyMaths are helpful too!
  • If it is a languages test, try linguascope.com, which I find very useful

Make sure you revise in a quiet environment away from distractions - just resist the temptation to mess about on the computer! It will be worth it when you get your marks back ;).

Hope that helped.

There are quite a few ways, one of them would be to put a CD in with questions you might get in your exam and go to sleep, or play it whilst you're asleep. The conscious part of your brain may absorb some of the information on the CD but this doesn't work for everyone.

You study the material until you fully understand it. Math isn't something you memorize, such as the lines to a poem, but something you have to understand in order to learn it and pass the exams.

Why do writers revise their paragraphs?

when doing your exams you have to remember things. When you learn things are usually put into the short term memory which lasts about 30seconds. The easiest way to get useful information into your long term memory is repetition, and that is why you need to revise.
