They were different lineages, but we combined at a point which is not told in The Bible. In Seth's lineage, Jared is said to have fathered Enoch. In Cain's lineage, Cain is said to have fathered Enoch. Both of the men named Enoch are said to have fathered a man named Lamech, so it can be assumed that they are one in the same. The bible is unclear as to when the lineages intertwined.

Adam's Godly Descendants-Adam to Enosh 25 Adam made love to his wife again. She gave birth to a son and named him Seth, because {she said,} "God has given me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him."

KJV Ge 4:25

Birth of Seth and Enos 25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.

Another son needed to be born of the good seed so the our Redemer could come.

Seth, the son of Adam and Eve was born in the 130th year of Adams life. Was called "a pefect man" and was in the likeness of his father. The record says that he lived 912 years. During his lifetime he did "all which his Father commanded him to do". It was through Seth that the line of all of the prophets came. Cain on the other hand followed Satan and worshiped him, rejecting the teachings of his father Adam, and so was cursed with a dark skin, all dark skinned people may be able to trace their birthright through Cain. His lineage can be traced to the wife of Ham, the son of Noah, Ham's wife Egyptus was of the lineage of Cain.

Why isn't Cain listed in the blood line of Jesus?

Cain was not in the blood line of Jesus. Cain and Abel were sons of Adam and Eve. Cain killed Abel and Cain went to the land of Nod. Adam and Eve had another son by the name of Seth (Genesis 4:25-26.) You will find Seth in the genealogy found in Luke 3:23-38).

Is Cain related to Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ was related to Cain only by the fact that Jesus was related to Adam (Humanly speaking) and Cain was a son of Adam. But Cain was not the family line that Jesus came from. Jesus came from the line of Seth, the third son of Adam and Eve. Several thousands of years separated the two generations.

Who was enochs parents?

Two lines with Enoch exists: Cain was the father of Enoch as Jared was of the line of Seth. Mothers are not commonly mentioned.

Why does the genealogy of Adam in Genesis chapter 5 fail to mention Cain and Able as Adam's sons?

The Bible only mentions Seth because it was through Seth's line that Christ would come.

Were the sons of God in Job chapter 1 verse 6 the same group as mentioned in Genesis chapter 6 verse 4?

The "sons of God" in the Book of Job are clearly the angels. The "sons of God" in Genesis 6:4 can have many interpretations. Here the "sons of God" come to notice "the daughters of men" and take them as wives. One view is to regard the sons of God as in the smae way as the descendants of Zeus in Greek mythology. Leon R. Kass (The Beginning of Wisdom: Reading Genesis) says that given the context, a simpler and more reasonable assumption (also favoured by many traditional commentators) is that the two lines that meet and merge are the line of Seth (Genesis 5 ) and the line of Cain (Genesis 4). He says that some evidence supports the view that it is the line of Cain that are the sons of God, and the line of Seth that carries the daughters of men. This is supported by the parallel names in the genealogies of Seth and Cain and by the fact that the line from Adam and Seth to Noah is introduced by the chapter heading "This is the book of the generations of Man ['adam]." In contrast, the line of Seth contains Enosh (whose name means "mortal"), and it alone mentions the deaths of men, suggesting that this is the line of mortals, not gods or sons of gods. And apropos the identity of the daughters of men, it is only in the generations of Seth that we hear constantly of the birth of daughters, daughters, reminders of birth and hence of man's dependence on woman.Kass goes on to say that there is equal if not greater evidence on the other side - that the descendants of Seth are the sons of God. This view acknowledges that the line of Seth is given in "the book of the generations of Man ['adam]," but man is made in the likeness of God and is created by God (Genesis 5:1). Further, Man begets Seth in his image and likeness: Seth is thus a likeness of a likeness of God. ln contrast, the line of Cain makes not even the slightest reference to God; humanist through and through, it is characterised by pride, the city, and the arts, in pursuit of full self-sufficiency. Kass suggests that the more god-like sons of the line of Seth, their world now shattered due to the death of Adam and Seth, are drawn to and seduced by the beauty of the daughters of the line of Cain.As Kass tells us, it makes little difference whether we accept the one view that the mighty descendants of Cain began mixing with the naturally beautiful daughters of the line of Seth or the other view that the less impious sons of Seth began mixing with the adorned daughters of the line of Cain. One way or the other, in the Book of Genesis these were the children of the ill-advised cross-cultural inter-marriage of the descendants of Seth with the descendants of Cain.Verse 6:4 in many English translations refers to 'giants' in the earth. Kass gives the original Hebrew as Nephilim, which he says comes from the root naphal, meaning both "to fall" and "to cause to fall." There is nothing in the Hebrew to lead us to calling these fallen descendants of Seth and Cain 'giants'.In summary, the 'sons of God' in the two books come from very different traditions and are widely interpreted as being quite different.

How does the story of Cain and Abel fit into the story of your salvation?

Cain and Abel were the first two sons of Adam and Eve. Cain murdered Abel and was banished to Nod. So Adam and Eve had another son and named him Seth. In the Gospel according to Luke, chapter 3 we find the genealogy of Jesus Christ. In verse 38 it tells us, "the son of Enos, the son of SETH, the son of Adam, the son of God. Seth is the Godly line from which Jesus came when He was born in the flesh. Would Adam and Eve had another son and named him Seth if the story of Cain and Abel were different? Answer: God would have had a way to bring forth the godly ancestry of Jesus by some means, and possibly by a son named Seth. Salvation is by Jesus Christ.

Who were the women that the sons of God took as wives in Genesis 6?

The difficulty here is in establishing which out of a number of possibilities was the original meaning of this story. The "sons of God" come to notice "the daughters of men" and take them as wives. Some learned commentators argue that the sons of God are superhuman beings, for example, demigods or angels or mythic heroes of the sort known in other traditions (and whom, some add, the Bible introduces here only to let them be drowned in the Flood). A simpler assumption actually favoured by many traditional commentators is that the two lines that meet and merge are the descendants of Cain (Genesis 4) and the descendants of Seth (Genesis 5). There is inter-tribal rivalry that leads God to believe that the whole world is wicked. Robert Sacks favours the view that the line of Cain that are the sons of God and the line of Seth that carries the daughters of men. He says it is only in the generations of Seth that we hear constantly of the birth of daughters, whereas daughters, reminders of birth and hence of man's dependence on woman were not mentioned in the line of Cain, the line that sought god-like self-sufficiency. Leon R. Kass prefers to see the line of Seth as the "sons of God", while the line of Cain includes the "daughters of men". He says that the descendants of Seth are portrayed as in the likeness of God, whereas the description of the line of Cain makes not even the slightest reference to God. Either way, the result is mixed marriage, with an illicit mixing of the god-like and the human, leading to the corruption of one by the other.

Was Jesus Christ a decendant of abel?

No. Abel was killed by Cain, his brother and so Adam and Eve had another son by the name of Seth. This is the line of Jesus. The genealogy that names Seth as a very early ancestor of Jesus can be found in Luke 3:23-38.

Was Enoch the son of Seth or of Cain?

Leon R. Kass (The Beginning of Wisdom: Reading Genesis) says that The line of ten generations from Adam to Noah begs to be compared to the seven generations from Cain to the sons of Lamech............................. AdamAdam................. SethCain .................. EnosEnoch ................ Cainan (Cain)Irad .................... Mahalaleel (Mehujael)Mehujael ........... Jared (Irad)Methusael ......... Enoch (Enoch)............................ Metheluselah (Methusael)............................ Lamech (Lamech)With the aid of the third column (in parentheses), we can see that the names in the second column are substantially the same as in the first column, with just a minor change of sequence. They originated with the same early mythology, but at some stage a new tradition emerged, which was subsequently brought back to enhance and add to the original tradition. Thus Enoch (Enos) is now both Seth's son and Cain's son.

In the Bible Adam two son started wrestling what is the story?

If you're talking about the story of Cain and Abel, Adam's sons, it is the story of the first murder. They both were giving sacrifices to God, and Abel willingly gave his best lamb, while Cain grudgingly gave some of his plants. God looked with favor on Abel, not Cain, and so Cain ended up killing Abel. God cursed Cain, and Adam had another son, Seth I believe, that took the place of Abel as the 'good' son, and the line Noah (of Noah and the ark) came from.

In Hebrew poetry what kind of parallel contrasts one line with another?

Chiasmus is a common form of parallelism in Hebrew poetry, where the second line inverts the structure of the first line. This creates a mirrored effect that emphasizes the contrast or comparison between the two lines.
