Currently there is no curfew however you can still be in breach of certain conditions as set out by your local enviromental health board and could be prosucted by them, particulary if it is a "regular noise nuisance".
It is best to assume that 10 o'clock at night is the acceptable time for "excessive noise" however if you live by a family or families with babies and/or young children, it would be wiser to limit this to 8 o'clock. Of course some people may even take offence to you waiting until these times to tone down the noise in which case they may call the police who could still attend the party and ask you to turn the noise down, even though you are not actually commiting an offence. I took this off of the South Wales Police website and was valid as of the 25/8/2007 "The police may attend at incidents such as this and can ask the organisers to turn the music down. ∙ 16y agoIn the UK there are laws relating to noise pollution and local authorities have the powers to intervene in cases where noise is affecting the quality of life of other people. If noise polluters fail to comply with local authority requests then they can be taken to court.
