I am doing GCSE music, and I think the student version is pretty good, although if you are serious about composing then you should think about the full version, which you can upgrade to at any time for a cheaper price.

There is no correlation between class width and student achievement. Class width is arbitrary (there are rules of thumb for class width, and it depends on the range of the data).
As far as I know it isn't possible in Sibelius Student, but it might be in other versions.

The word student implies study, but not all pupils study.
Not that I know of but you can get help by clicking on Help at the top of the screen and then selecting Sibelius user guide. A shortcut is pressing F1. The user guide hasn't failed me yet, and I've referred to it countless times!
