The only difference is the mintmark and the fact they were made at different Mints.
Yes, it's the "Variety 3-Arrows at Date". It was struck at the Philadelphia & New Orleans Mints.
A new quarter will be shinier and worth more than an old dime. Quarters also have George Washington on them.
There are two varieties from two mints of 1840 US half dimes and their values range from about $10 for a type 1 from Philadelphia in Good condition to $2200 for an uncirculated type 2 example from New Orleans.
The "P" on a USA dime is a mint mark indicating the coin was minted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA. Dimes minted in Philadelphia before 1980 don't have the letter P on them though.
"There is not a dime's worth of difference between the Democrat and Republican Parties!" Alabama Governor George Wallace, candidate for President, 1968 Can be taken to mean that what are presented as very different approaches to an issue turn out, in the end, to have nearly identical results.
It depends on where it was minted. There are only two mints that the coin could have came out of in 1841: Philadelphia and New Orleans. This was also a Seated Liberty Dime. If it was minted in Philadelphia, it could be worth between $19 and $600 and if it was minted in New Orleans, it would be valued between $23 and $1646. If it came out of New Orleans, there would be a small "O" mintmark at the bottom of the reverse under the wreath. If it came out of Philadelphia, it would be blank. 1900 would make it a Barber dime, not a Mercury dime (the Mercury design wasn't introduced until 1916). The value depends on condition and mint. It's worth at least $3.00 for a worn Philadelphia specimen, and over $100 for a better New Orleans.
Yep, Democrats want to give the dime away, and the Republicans want the people to earn it.
No mint mark indicates that the dime was minted in Philadelphia.
From the Philadelphia mint it has a value from $30 to $2,000 depending on the condition of the coin. From the New Orleans mint it has a value from $70 to $33,000 depending upon the condition of the coin.

The very distinct difference is that if it doesn't have a mint mark it was struck in Philadelphia. The P mint mark wasn't used on dimes until 1980. If it has a D mint mark it was made in Denver. Both are only worth 10¢ if found in change. If it has an S it's a proof dime struck at San Francisco and only sold to collectors.

1902 makes it a Barber dime, so the mint mark is on the reverse (tails) side, right at the bottom. No mark indicates Philadelphia, S is San Francisco, and O is New Orleans. There isn't a Denver version, because that facility wasn't open yet.
