Bent usually refers to the angular change in the shape of a linear object, such as a line or pipe that has a sudden alteration in it's perspective. Dented or a dent, is normally thought of as a depression in the surface of a flat object, such as a sheet of metal or something. For example, you can DENT your car's fender, but BEND it's radio aerial (if you still have one of those wire ones..)
