The rational numbers are a subset of the real numbers. You might recall that rational numbers are those that can be expressed as the ratio of two whole numbers (no matter how large they are). Irrational Numbers, like pi, cannot. But both sets (the rational and irrational numbers) are subsets of the real numbers. In fact, when we look at all the numbers, we are looking at the complex number system. We break that down into the real and the imaginary numbers. And the real numbers have the rational and irrational numbers as subsets. It's just that simple.

Rational numbers are numbers that can be written as a fraction. Real numbers are any number, including irrationals.

What is the relationship between real number and rational number?

Rational numbers form a proper subset of real numbers. So all rational numbers are real numbers but all real numbers are not rational.

Is there a rational number between two real numbers?

Yes. There are infinitely many rational numbers between any two real numbers.

Is The difference of two real numbers always an irrational number?

No. 5 and 2 are real numbers. Their difference, 3, is a rational number.

What is the sum or difference of the any two irrational numbers?

The sum or the difference between two irrational numbers could either be rational or irrational, however, it should be a real number.

No. Rational numbers are numbers that can be written as a fraction. All rational numbers are real.

Interpreting similarities between rational and irrational numbers?

They Are Both Real Numbers.

How many rational numbers are there between 0 and 5?

Infinitely many. Between any two different real numbers (not necessarily rational) there are infinitely many rational numbers, and infinitely many irrational numbers.

Are all real numbers a rational numbers?

Yes. Rational numbers are numbers that can be written as a fraction. All rationals are real.

What is between 0.55 and 0.5?

An infinity of rational and real numbers.
