triggers are fired automatically but we need to call functions. Triggers can b fired on update, insert command.
For example if there is field of phoneNumber. We need to validate phoneNumber on insert and update as characters are not allowed. So to VALIDATE phoneNumber there will be a function. And this will be called in a trigger so that if any updation or insertion is done it will automatically check phoneNumber.
Hope this is easy to understand

I have no idea. However, in theory there is a difference.
The strcmpi() function is identical to stricmp() function.
Structure refers to the physical characteristics or arrangement of components, while function refers to the purpose or role of those components. The relationship between structure and function is that the structure of an object or organism often determines its function - the way something is built or organized influences how it works or what it does. For example, the shape of a bird's wings is structured for flight, which is its function.
