The edge of a prism is a line segment where two faces of the prism meet. In a typical prism, which has two parallel bases and rectangular or polygonal lateral faces, each edge connects the vertices of these faces. The number of edges in a prism depends on the number of sides of its base; for example, a triangular prism has 9 edges, while a rectangular prism has 12. Edges play a crucial role in defining the shape and structure of the prism.
If the lateral edge of a prism is perpendicular to both the bases, the prism is called a right prism. In a right prism, the sides connecting the bases are perpendicular to the base faces, resulting in a uniform cross-section along its height. This characteristic distinguishes it from an oblique prism, where the sides are not perpendicular to the bases.
Assuming that the prism is a right prism (with height perpendicular to the base plane), its volume is the product of the area of the base and the height. The area of the triangular base is one-half the product of the base and the height (altitude) of the triangle. Therefore, the volume in this instance is 4 X 3 X 12/2 = 72 cubic centimeters.

A triangular prism has a triangular base. A square-based prism has a square base. A prism with an n-sided base will have 2n vertices, n + 2 faces, and 3n edges.
A prism with an n-sided base will have 2n vertices, n + 2 faces, and 3n edges.
The lateral face for a prism or pyramid is any edge or face which is not part of a base.
Every prism has a base. For a triangular prism the base is a triangle.
A rectangular Prism has 12 edges.
There is no such things a combined cone prism. A cone has a polygonal shapes base with all ofthe points on the edge of the polygon rising up a certain height to one point from the center of the base polygon. A prism is two polygonal bases. These bases are connected on the edges and have a certain height.
