The pipe diameter doesn't matter. If the pipe is discharging a cubic foot per second then it will discharge 86400 cubic feet in a day, because that is the number of seconds in one day. One acre foot is 43560 cubic feet, so the pipe discharges 86400/43560 ~= 1.98 acre feet. On the other hand, if you meant to say the water velocity exiting the pipe is 1 foot per second (not one cubic foot per second), then, assuming you have the average water velocity, you need to figure the flow rate first. The pipe has a radius of 2 in. so its cross sectional area is pi*r^2 = pi*4 ~= 12.57. So a volume of 12.57 in.^2 * 12 in. is discharged per second, which is ~ 150.80 in.^3 or about 0.09 cubic feet. From there it's the same as above. On the other other hand, if your water velocity is not the average over the cross sectional area but instead a point velocity, say at the middle of the stream of water, then you need to figure the average velocity. You'll need a hydraulics book with pipe roughness coefficients for that.

How do you convert meters per second to RPM's?

You need more information to specify exactly what you are trying to do here, but I can give you one common example that will hopefully get you on the right track. If you take the example of a cylinder spinning about it's axis, then you can convert between its rotational speed in revolutions per minute (RPM) and the tangential surface velocity (m/s) if you know the diameter of the cylinder. Essentially, you divide the time of one rotation into the circumference of the cylinder. Legend: V = tangential surface velocity C = circumference of cylinder D = diameter of cylinder RPM = revolutions per minute Pi = 3.14 Equations: V = C * RPM = Pi * D * RPM or RPM = V / (Pi * D) Example: A cylinder with a diameter of 1 meter is rotating at 60 rpm. Its tangential surface velocity is: V = (3.14) * (1 m) * (60 rpm) = 188.4 m/min = 3.14 m/s.

Why you calculate momentum?

momentum is caused by inertia. all objects have inertia, which means if they are moving at a certain velocity or are at rest they will continue to move at that velocity or remain at rest unless acted on by a force. Objects of more mass have greater inertia, so the amount of momentum is equal to the product of an objects mass and the magnitude of its velocity.

What does caliber stands for in relation to firearms?

The general rule that is mostly true a lot of the time is that "caliber" is the diameter of the bore (the hole inside the barrel through which the bullet passes) as expressed in decimals, using inch units of measure. So a "thirty caliber" rifle would have a bore of .30 inch or 30/100 inch. A "twenty two caliber" gun fires a .22" diameter bullet. But "caliber" also means a particular name of a specific cartridge of a certain height, weight, width, angle, and gunpowder charge. For example, a .22 "long rifle" bullet weighs 40 grains and moves at an initial velocity of 1000 feet per second. But a .220 Swift rifle cartridge fires a bullet of the same diameter, but longer and heavier, and at over 3,000 feet per second. Two different caliber cartridges, but in each case the hole in the rifle's barrel is about 22/100 inch. I was not the question.

How you can measure the vibration in rotary equipment?

An accelerometer can be mounted on the surface of the machine which will measure the vibrations acceleration this is usually integrated to velocity for the purposes of analysis. Velocity is usually measured in mm/s (millimeters per second) or IPS (inches per second) in the US) while acceration in usually measured in G (9.8 mm/s/s). To convert between vibration acceleration, velocity and displacement you can use the following free tool from vibronurse the link is (http://www.vibronurse.com/cmcalculator.html). The alternative method is to use proximity probes (which uses an eddy current coil) these will normally be fitted to the machine by the original manufacturer.

What is deceleration measured in?

Deceleration means to decrease the velocity. The SI unit is the same as acceleration. In SI units, acceleration is measured in meters/second² (m·s-2).

What is the difference between stream discharge and stream velocity?

Stream discharge is a product of the velocity and the area of the stream (velocity x width x depth), and has units of volume per time (e.g. cubic feet per second, cubic meter per day, etc). Stream velocity is the vector describing the speed of the water and has units of length per time (feet per second, meter per second). Stream discharge is relatively constant as you move up and down a stream, while velocity will change predominately as you change depth. The velocity of water is lowest near the bed of the stream, and highest at the surface.

How do you convert 5.3 meters per second into liters per second?

You don't. metres per second measures velocity. litres per second measures flow rate. There is no conversion. Possibly you mean 5.3 cubic metres per second - that's easier. There are 1000 litres in a cubic metre. So its 5300 litres per second. That's the flow rate of a small river. Actually you can convert flow to velocity as long as you know the internal diameter of the pipe. Where Velocity - V = m/s Flow - Q = m3/h (1 L/s = 3.6 m3/h) Diameter - D = Internal Diameter of pipe in mm V = 354 x Q/D2

What is the discharge in acre feet per day of a four inch diameter pipe with a 1 cubic foot per second flow rate?

The diameter of the pipe is of no consequence only the volume. As the discharge is 1 cu.ft. /sec. and an acre foot is 43,560 cu. ft. and there are 86,400 sec/ day the answer is obviously about 2, or more exactly 1.98.

What does high velocity blood spatter means in a crime scene?

High Velocity is short for "high terminal velocity" which is another way of saying that the blood spatter is small and is so small, in fact, it is the smallest of other velocities: • Low terminal velocity • Medium terminal velocity The high velocity pattern is usually less than one millimeter in diameter and is known to fall up to around 100 feet per second.
