Factor rainbows, like trees, fireworks and ladders, are ways to notate the process of finding the prime factorization of a given number. This is achieved by dividing prime numbers into the given number until all the factors are prime. With a factor rainbow, the given number is written at the bottom. Example: 210

7,5,3,2

35,3,2

105,2

210

A factor rainbow is just an upside down factor tree. With factor trees, you put the number at the top and factor down. With factor rainbows, you put the number at the bottom and factor up.
