Plasma is another state of matter, but not found on our earth. Plasma reaches fairly high temperatures and can be found in the sun, or other stars
:)
Edit: Err... that's WAY off... plasma is found ALL OVER Earth, though it is rarely present for extended periods of time. High-heat flames can cause formation of plasma, and electrical current can also produce plasma (if you've ever seen those ball things that have what looks like "lightning" shooting around in them, that's actually basically what it is, only with a much lower electrical current that isn't in the slightest bit dangerous to a human, but the visible part of it is actually plasma). The visible part of lightning is plasma, as is any visible electrical current.
So, no, plasma is not only found away from earth. It can be formed by burning things at fairly high temperatures e.g. gas flames, or by exciting gasses with electrical currents.
e.g. discharge lamps
The fourth state of matter is plasma. Plasma is found in the sun, star, and on Earth. This state of matter is highly abundant in the universe. The other three states of matter are solid, liquid, and gas.
The fourth state of matter (after solid, liquid and gas) is considered to be plasma. Plasma is said to occupy almost 99% of our universe including sun.
how many forms of atoms have scientiest found
The state of a matter which isn't solid and isn't gas is liquid.
That would be plasma. Plasma is where there is a hot "soup" of nuclei and electrons.
The fourth state of matter is plasma.
Plasma is the fourth state of matter.
Plasmas
supersolid
Plasma might be considered part of the solid, liquid and gas group. That's because, like a solid, a liquid or a gas, a plasma is another state of matter. It could be treated as a fluid, as gases and liquids are often considered. Plasma is another state of matter that might be said to be "beyond" gas. If we superheat a substance greatly and drive electrons out of their orbitals around parent atoms, we end up with a plasma. Plasma is generally considered the fourth state of matter by physicists. A material that is "cool" enough to exist as a solid can be heated and undergo a change of state to become a liquid. Heat that substance more and it becomes a gas. Heat it yet more and it becomes ionized particles we call a plasma. Use the link below to learm more about the fourth state of matter.
No, there are only 4 states of matter: Commonly known are liquid, gas and solid. When you electrically charge a gas you get the fourth state of matter: plasma.
of course it is. All substances are matter.
Solid
There are 3 states of matter, solid, liquid and gas. It is neither gas or a liquid, so it has to be solid.
A lightning bolt is plasma, a fourth state of matter.
The three states of matter are solid, liquid, and gas. ...and occassionally Plasma is considered a fourth state.
you mean the four states of matter? it's solid, liquid, gas, and plasma. Solid, liquid, and gas is the most common, though.
No. Solid, liquid, and gas are states of matter, not energy. - - -- --- Matter (things) have energy (not things), and things can be solid, liquid, gas, or the fourth state of matter, called plasma. Most of the sun is plasma, but about 9% of it is gaseous.
solid-liquid-gas Fourth one is plasma ie ionic state of matter.
States of matter are:solid,liquid,gas andplasma.
Jello is considered a solid for the most part, before it is refrigerated it would be considered a liquid.
most commonly referred to in chemistry are three : liquid solid and gas....but further investigations have lead scientists to believe a fourth kind defined as plasma can be considered as a state of matter.
Liquid is one of the 3 (or 4) states of matter: Gas, liquid, and solid. Being a liquid really has nothing to do with its conductivity. Example: Pure water is not a good conductor. Pure mercury in liquid form is a really good conductor. The Fourth state of matter is considered to be Plasma.
If we take solid, liquid and gas being the three main states of matter (plasma being an arguable fourth), then from solid to liquid, the process melting occurs, from liquid to gas evaporation or boiling (they are different things) occur. Then from gas to liquid condensation occurs and from liquid to solid freezing occurs.
There are threes states of matter: solid, liquid and gas. Music is considered a sound because it's heard. Sound is not classified as solid, liquid nor gas, hence it is not a state of matter.
The three main types of matter are liquid, solid, and a gas. There is a fourth, which is called "plasma". Plasma is found on the sun.
