Answer: Infinity or there is none.

One common multiple of 8 and 28 is 224. If I double it, which is 448, I have a larger common multiple. If I double it again, which is 896, I have an even larger common multiple. I can continue doubling it forever, so there is no greatest common multiple, or it can be said to be infinite.

What number and 8 have the greatest common factor of 8 and the least common multiple of 24?

Both numbers must be multiples of 8, since their greatest common factor is 8. The numbers cannot be larger than 24, since it is their least common multiple. One of the numbers is 8. The only other multiples of 8 that are equal to or less than 24 are 16 and 24. 8 and 16 have greatest common factor of 8 but least common multiple of 16, so it cannot be this pair. 8 and 24 have greatest common factor of 8 and least common multiple of 24, so this is the solution.

What is the greatest common multiple of 8 and 15?

The greatest common multiple is an infinite term and not very practical for problem solving.

What is the least common multiple of 56 and 64?

The least common multiple is the product of the two numbers divided by their greatest common factor. Their greatest common factor is 8, so the least common multiple is 56 x 64 ÷ 8 = 448.

What is the greatest common multiple of 8 and 24?

Infinity but their lowest common multiple is 24

Is 16 the least common multiple of 4 and 8?

The least common multiple of two numbers is the product of the two numbers divided by their greatest common factor. The greatest common factor of 4 and 8 is 8. (See related question "What is the greatest common factor of 4 and 8?" for this calculation.) So, the least common multiple is 4 x 8 ÷ 4 = 8. Common multiples of 4 and 8 include 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80, etc. Although 16 is a common multiple, it is not the least common multiple.
