there is no area. it is called surface area which is

=2(pi)rh+2(pi)r(squared).

this is the total surface are of a SOLID cylinder. for an open or hollow one it is

=2(pi)rh+(pi)r(squared)

How is curved surface area related to cylinder?

If cylinder radius and cylinder length are known : (pi = 3.141592654 . . . ) > Surface area = ( (2 * pi * radius) * length )

What is the difference between area of curved surface of cylinder and surface area of cylinder?

Curved surface area includes the area of the length of the cylinder only whereas surface area includes the two bases as well...

What is the surface area of a cylinder if the diameter is 124 mm and the length is 170 mm?

A cylinder if the diameter is 124 mm and the length is 170 mm has a surface area of 90,377.34mm2

Curved surface area of a cylinder?

The formula for the surface area of a cylinder?

Surface area of a cylinder = (pi) x (diameter of the circular end) x (length)

How do you derive of surface area of cylinder?

The surface area of a cylinder can be derived from the area of rectangle. If you 'unroll' a cylinder you have a shape of a rectangle, similar to a sheet of paper. The width of the rectangle will be the height of the cylinder and the length of the rectangle will be the circumference of the cylinder end.So, Area = length * widthwhere, width = height of cylinder & length = circumference of cylinder end = PI*(Diameter of cylinder)Therefore, surface area of a cylinder = (PI)*(diameter of cylinder)*(height of cylinder)Hope that helps!

What is the equation for the Surface Area of a cylinder?

If the cylinder has radius R and length L , the curved part of the surface has area 2piRL and each of the ends has area piR^2. The total surface area is the sum of the curved part plus two ends.

What is the surface area of a cylinder whose length is 10cm and its height is 3 cm?

If by length you mean diameter then the surface area is 80π cm squared= about 251.327cm squared

What is the volume of the cylinder with a length of 22 and a diameter of 9?

The volume of a cylinder with a length of 22 and a diameter of 9 is: 1,400 cubic units.

What is the surface area of a cone with a diameter 18 km and a slant height of 20.1 km?

A cone with a diameter of 18km and a slant height of 20.1km has a total surface area of about 822.78km2

Why is the curved surface of cone not 2pi x r x l?

Because 2Pi x r x L is the curved surface of a cylinder. Clearly a cylinder have more surface area than a cone of same height and radius. The surface of the cone is Pi x r x S where S is the slope length, so the cylinder has approximately double the surface area (note S is longer than L).

Area o a pipe which is anopen cylinder?

Surface area of an open pipe = 2*pi*radius*length or pi*diameter*length in square units.
