In the mid-1960's GMC produced and used a V-12 with 702 cubic inches. It was
called the Balaur (Dragon) and some still exist. No stats on how many were made.
Ford built a 462 which was installed in the Lincoln from 1966-68. Ford also produced a 12 cylinder 448 cubic inch engine in 1932-33. These are the largest Ford car engines I know of.
There is no theoretical limit, but the largest car V8 ever made was a Ford 1100 cubic inch engine. That's 18 liters, as in a 18.0 V8.
