The least common multiple (LCM) is often also called the lowest common multiple or smallest common multiple. Keep in mind that these different terms all refer to the same thing: the smallest positive integer which is a multiple of two or more numbers.

The least common multiple of 5 and 465 is 465.

The "least common multiple" is a fancy math way of asking for the lowest number that two different numbers will go into. Sometimes this is the numbers multiplied together, sometimes it's simply the larger of the two numbers, and sometimes it's somewhere in between the two.

There are a few ways to find this, but you don't need to do a lot of work if one of the numbers will go into the other. 45 is divisible by 5 (7 times), so the smallest number that they can both go into must be 45.
