Diameter is measured linearly so officially, it would be meters. However any unit derived from the meter (cm, mm, etc.) would also be acceptable. New: Let's start off with the smallest practical metric unit of length, the millimerte (mm).

One inch contains 25.4 mm.

10 mm is equal to one centimetre (cm) or 2.54 inches

100 cm is equal to one metre (m) or 1.09 yards

1000 m is equal to one kilometre (km) or 0.62 miles

a kilometer or a meter

143

143? Wossat?

The Earth's diameter would be quoted in kilometres (km).

Incidentally the metre was originally chosen as a fraction of the planet's polar circumference - not bad given the difficulty of measuring that at the time1 Then it became related to a standard bar kept in Paris. Now it's a multiple of wavelengths of light of a certain frequency - I don't know which but think it may be of sodium.

The question does not make sense. The phrase "inch dia to meter" is nonsense. Further more, if it was a failed edit of "inch to diameter" it still does no make sense. That is like asking to convert inch to length.

It doesn't matter whether you measure a diameter, or something else. To convert inches to metric units, you can:* Multiply by 25.4, to convert to mm

* Multiply by 0.0254, to convert to meters

The SI unit of mass is the kilogram. Density is expressed in g/cm3 (grams per centimeter cubed)

What is the SI unit of balance?

There is no specific "unit of balance".For an object to be in balance, two conditions must be fulfilled:The sum of all forces on the object must be zero. In the SI, forces are measured in newtons. The sum of all torques on the object must be zero. In the SI, torques are measured in newton-meters.

What is a customary measure of how heavy an object is?

Mass in kilograms (kg is the SI unit for mass)

What would the mass be if an object was 3kg?

The kilogram (kg) is the SI unit for mass. So an object that is 3kg, has a mass of 3kg.

What SI unit can be used for measuring volume?

A basic unit of volume in the metric system is a liter. Volume is the amount of space an object takes up. The most accurate tool used to measure volume is a graduated cylinder. Answer In SI, the unit of volume is the cubic metre. While the litre is a metric unit, it is NOT an SI unit.
